We’re looking for a Health and Safety partner for Bradford 2025. The appointed partner will deliver Health and Safety support, consultancy and reporting, across our entire programme.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting safety practices and support to staff, volunteers, suppliers and partners to ensure safety is a key focus throughout the programme.
  • Offering advice and general guidance for reducing risks on events, as well as helping to manage the process internally more efficiently.
  • Attending site visits to advise on potential site-specific risks, recommending control measures and involvement with event site safety planning.
  • Carrying out, writing and/or advising on detailed risk assessments and method statements and producing safety policies and procedures, as needed.
  • Attending and presenting site plans to the Safety Advisory Group and other working groups.
  • Acting as lead safety officer on site, as and when required.
  • Developing a health & safety toolkit to share with other organisations to create a lasting legacy.
  • Contributing to the evaluation of Bradford 2025 and ensure detailed reporting and knowledge transfer.

Criteria for Selection

  • Industry registered with recognised health & safety qualifications.
  • Track record of providing Health & Safety Consultancy including (but not limited to), experience overseeing the safe installation and removal of temporary structures.
  • Knowledge and experience of working on a variety of events in the cultural sector.
  • Experience of liaising confidently with a wide range of contractors and stakeholders, including regulatory and planning authorities.
  • Preferably local to Bradford/West Yorkshire, but open to applicants throughout the UK with capacity to travel.
