Nitin Sawhney and Poppy Ajudha headline our all-day music festival in Cliffe Castle Park.
Shades on! Soak up the summer sun at Summer Sounds, an all-day music festival across two stages in Cliffe Castle Park.
Together with Serious, we’ve brought together a packed line-up of artists whose music knows no boundaries – from singer-songwriters, poets and soul divas to DJs, producers and big bands who mix afrobeat, drum ’n’ bass, jazz and much more. It’s the perfect soundtrack to a summer Sunday in the park.
On the main stage, we’ll have:
Nitin Sawhney, multi-award-winning musician, composer and producer.
Poppy Ajudha, ace singer-songwriter from South London by way of Saint Lucia.
Joshua Idehen, spoken word artist, musician and collaborator with the likes of Sons of Kemet and Daedalus.
Summer Pearl, soul singer and superstar-in-waiting.
TC & the Groove Family, the mighty Leeds 10-piece blending afrobeat, breakbeat, jazz, highlife and hip hop.
Kenzo Jae, Bradford-born singer and rapper who mixes indie and punk with old school hip hop.
And over on The Beacon stage, there’ll be sets from the likes of Indo-jazz pioneer Sarathy Korwar and alt-soul singer Tawiah – plus a jazz dance workshop with Masumi Endo and DJ Lubi. Bring your dancing shoes.
