Useful information about Painting the Sky - a drone show in Roberts Park on 14 November 2025.
Painting the Sky is a spectacular celebration of Bradford-born artist David Hockney, taking his work out of the gallery and into the Saltaire skies.

Getting there
Parking around Roberts Park is limited so we strongly encourage walking or using public transport to get to the event.

Public Transport
Roberts Park is well served by public transport.
The nearest train station is Saltaire (5-7 min walk to the event). There are regular services to and from Saltaire into Bradford Foster Square, Leeds and to Skipton, Settle and beyond.
Please check with local transport providers for up-to-date information about timetables.
Blue Badge Parking
Accessible Blue Badge Parking will be available on Loverose Way on a first come, first served basis.
Accessibility
This event will include loud music and moving lights.
Painting the Sky will include the following access provision:
- Level entry to the park.
- Accessible toilets.
- Service animals are welcome.
- An Accessible Viewing Area and limited seating will be available on the path near the alpaca statues, next to Half Moon Cafe for people who need it for access reasons.
Event information
What time is the event?
The event will start at 5:30pm and last around 10 minutes. Please arrive in plenty of time so you don’t miss the start of the show.
Are there any age restrictions?
There are no age restrictions.
Will there be any seating?
There is no seating at the event.
Will there be food and drink?
There will be two hot drink stands at the Loverose Way entrance. Please also make use of local businesses.
Will there be toilets?
Yes. There will be a small number of portaloos on site and an accessible toilet.
Will the event still go ahead in bad weather?
In the case of high winds or extreme weather, Painting the Sky may be delayed or cancelled. Please keep an eye on Bradford 2025’s social media channels for the latest updates.
Will the event be crowded?
We expect the event to be busy, but Roberts Park is a large area so there will be plenty of space to move around.
The best viewing area for the event is on the grass next to the cricket pitch. Look out for our Volunteers who will direct you.

Please dress for the weather and note that the park may be wet or muddy so please wear sensible footwear.
