Bradford 2025 and Wild Rumpus are teaming up for a series of not-to-be-missed immersive cinema experiences in iconic Bradford locations, including Ilkley Lido and Thornton Viaduct.

Event timings

7pm: doors open

7pm – 8.15pm: pre-screening activities + swim

8.30pm: Film starts – Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (12A) / Sexy Beast (18)

10.45pm: site closes

Can I swim before the film?

Yes. The pool will be available for swimming between 7-8.15pm and changing facilities will be available. Only swimwear is allowed in the pool – and don’t forget dry clothes for the film screening!

Lockers are available to swimmers and just need a trolly key or a pound coin.

There is an approved swimwear list for Ilkley Lido – please check this list on the Bradford Council website before you visit.

What are the pre show activities?

Arrive early and immerse yourself in Wild Rumpus’s glittering dreamlike world, populated by technicolour characters, who could make your dreams come true. Encounter a dreamscape of glittering unicorns and vivid installations of glowing fish and pulsing lit walkways full of photo opportunities and exploration.

Pay a visit to the fortune teller to hear their prediction for your future – will it be optimistic and happy or a comically dark prediction? Pimp your party gear and bling up with the costumier in their booth of props and decor ahead of the screening.

Is there a minimum age for my event?

Each film has a different age restriction as set by the BBFC (British Board of film Classification). It is against the law for us to permit anyone under the certified age for a film into the event.

The age restriction is stated on the ticket booking pages for each event. Babes in arms are not permitted,

We may ask for photographic ID if you or anyone in your group looks under the certified age for your chosen film. We reserve the right to refuse entry if you are unable to present valid proof of identity.

The certified age for our events may differ from the copies of films you own at home, please always check before booking.

All guests aged under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18+.

Will there be seating?

We recommend bringing a camping chair or picnic blanket to this event. We may allocate specific zones for different types of seating to avoid issues with sight lines.

Can I smoke or vape at the venue?

This is a smoke free site. You will be able to leave site to smoke in the designated smoking area outside the Lido.

Is there parking onsite?

Yes the Lido has a large car park which is free after 6pm and has a 2m height limit. 

How far is Ilkley train station?

It’s a 15 minute walk between the Lido and Ilkley train station.

Food and drink

There will be delicious food vendors onsite for this event – we’ll announce the food offer closer to the event.

Can I bring my own food?

Yes picnics and snacks are permitted, but no hot food or glass items.

Can I bring alcohol?

Ilkley Lido is strictly a dry site so no alcohol can be brought to site or purchased.

However, there will be a bar selling a selection of summer mocktails, alcohol free beers and gin & tonics for you to enjoy, along with a range of soft drinks.

What food will be available to buy on site?

Lido Cafe serving hot dogs, burgers, fries (+loaded), soft drinks + lollies + icecream, open until 9pm.

Smart Coffee serving fresh coffee, tea, deluxe hot choc and homemade cakes.

Vegan Spice selling Samosas and Bhajis.

Delicious Popcorn with an assortment of flavours available and waffles.

Can I bring glass containers or bottles?

No glass items are allowed onsite.

Will there be toilet facilities? 

Yes, there are toilets onsite.

Can I bring a dog or pet with me?

In line with Ilkley Lido site rules, no pets are permitted on site.

Preparing for the weather

The Lido is an outdoor site with no shelter from rain. The screening will take place come rain or shine. In the unlikely event that weather conditions present a danger to attendees and staff, we will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable and we may need to refund or reschedule the event.

Can I bring an umbrella?

Yes umbrellas will be permitted, but please be mindful of the sightlines of other audience members.
