Join us as part of National Heritage Open Days to celebrate Wild Uplands final month with an exhibition of artwork by local school children, drop-in creative workshops, henna art, heritage tours and talks and Tai Chi on the moors. 

There’s lots to do for all the family at the Wild Uplands end of summer party! Activities will take place in St Michael & All Angels Church and the Parsonage Old School Room, with themed tours around Penistone Hill.

Schedule

Family workshops at St Michael & All Angels and the Bronte Schoolroom: 11.00-15.30 Drop-in all day

Drop in family artist-led workshops and henna art. Come and make a landscape collage, a zine or a sheep!

Schools Exhibition: Drop-in all day

Local primary schools responses to Wild Uplands will be on display in St Michaels & All Angels Church

Bogtastic Van! Drop-in all day

Moors for the Future Partnership’s Bogtastic Van, a playful immersive learning experience for kids is at the Dimples Lane Car Park.

Paint a Pot with Cobbles and Clay: 11.00/12.00/13.30/14.30 Ticketed (some walk-ups available)

Inspired by Wild Uplands come and paint a sheep, a butterfly or a clay tile at Cobbles and Clay Classroom.

Nature Walk around Wild Uplands – 11am Ticketed 

Join our Nature Walk with ecological heritage experts Frankie and David and explore the land that has been home to Wild Uplands. Ticketed, some walk ups available. 

Minibus shuttle from Bronte Parsonage Museum Car park – meet at 10.45 (numbers limited on the bus) or walk up and meet by the Bogtastic Van on Dimples Lane at the start of the Wild Uplands sculpture trail at 11.00

Tai Chi on Penistone Hill – 12:30pm Ticketed 

Relax and enjoy the landscape and sculptures with a guided Open Air Tai Chi session led by Yorkshire Tai Chi. Ticketed, some walk ups available. 

Minibus shuttle from Bronte Parsonage Museum Car park – meet at 12.15 (numbers limited on the bus) or walk up and meet by the Bogtastic Van on Dimples Lane at the start of the Wild Uplands sculpture trail at 12.30 

Behind the Scenes Tour of Wild Uplands – 2:30pm Drop-in 

Behind the Scenes Tour of Wild Uplands sculptures with the BD25 team. Drop-in!

Family Tours of Wild Uplands – 11:30am & 2pm Drop-in 

Join an artist led family friendly tour of Wild Uplands with activities along the way.
