We are taking the DRAW Tour to Operation Oakworth, a community litter-pick extravaganza! Draw the things that make you happy then grab a litter-picking kit and help make Oakworth even more beautiful.

You can collect a litter-picking kit from Christ Church, Colne Road, between 10am and 10.30am. Equipment, bags and high-visibility vests are provided. Volunteers will meet back at the church between noon and 12.30pm, for a cuppa and to return equipment. Operation Oakworth is staged with support from Bradford Council area office staff.

A spokesperson said: “We are proud of Oakworth and this is a chance to make it look even better. “If you’re fed-up of litter and dog fouling bags, join us in helping to clean-up our village. Everyone can make a big difference. Thank you for your support.

Workshop: Pocket Talismans – Little Things That Make You Happy

In this hands-on creative session in Gilstead, you’ll make your very own tiny “things that make you happy” using plasticine or modelling clay — perhaps a little sun, a bird, or anything that brings you joy. Each creation will be carefully tucked inside a decorated matchbox, transforming it into a personal “pocket talisman” or token to take home.

Your matchbox can be painted, collaged, or drawn on. Your miniature masterpiece stays safely inside its box, ready to brighten your day whenever you open it.
