Summer Sounds: Saturday

Asha Puthli, Metz n Trix and ganayva headlined day one of our music weekender in The Beacon.

Our boutique music weekender at The Beacon in Cliffe Castle Park kicked off with a day of rhythm, energy and radical connection through sound.

Dedicated to uplifting South Asian creativity, Dialled In brought an eclectic full day programme including:

  • Asha Puthli, pioneer of jazz, funk, soul and electronic dance music.
  • Metz n Trix, legends of the British Asian music scene.
  • ganayva, one of the hottest acts around, blending spiritual jazz and South Asian devotional music.
  • Ustad Noor Bakhsh, legendary Pakistani maestro of the Balochi benji.
  • Jasmine Jethwa, folk-tinged alternative pop singer-songwriter.
  • Inder Goldfinger x SilverFinger Singh, father-son duo pairing the legendary producer (Fun-Da-Mental et al) with the singer and BBC Radio Leeds presenter.
  • JAWARI, a multi-disciplinary collective based in global jazz, Indian classical, and poetry
  • S Dog, hailed by DJ Mag as “part of a new generation of MCs putting their own spin on bassline”.
  • DJ Kizzi – BBC Asian Network, fusing South Asian beats with dance, house, UK garage, afrobeat and hip-hop
  • Manara, A legend on underground club circuits across the world for her uninhibited blend of deep club cuts, pop divas, garage and Bollywood samples.
  • Jawani Nights, forerunners of contemporary Panjabi youth culture.
  • Arthi, a multi-genre DJ who fuses sounds from London and across the world, from Dancehall, Reggaeton and Afrobeats to UK Funky, Garage and Bass.
  • YNZN, “a sweet spot of crispy 2-step and atmospheric breakbeat” Resident Advisor.
  • Dhol Academy, drumming kingpins since 1994.

PLUS delicious street food, DJs and interactive workshops.
