Resources for Democracy: A People’s History of Bradford Resource Centre

You could step into the story of Bradford Resource Centre and explore over four decades of activism, creativity, and community power!

Since 1979, BRC has been at the heart of grassroots action in Bradford, providing resources, training and information to a wide range of community, anti-racist, LGBTQ+, feminist, disability rights, and trade union movements.

We helped bring the centre’s history to life at Trapezium Arts, in an exhibition by Friends of Bradford Resource Centre.

What the exhibition included

  • A DIY Office Zone using BRC resources: where you could make your own Zine, poster or badges!
  • Short films by Adam Lewis Jacob, ahead of his BRC film, that then premiered in October.
  • Photography, film and text by youth film collective Toothless Films.
  • Archive material from BRC, Bradford Community Arts, Valid disability arts group and many more!
  • You shared your own BRC memories and submitted your own material to the archive.
