On Yer Bike is a showcase of cycling stories and artwork from communities in Keighley, Buttershaw and West Bowling.

Artists Cat Fortey, Cath Muldowney and Nicola Storr have been working with cycling groups to create writing, sounds, photography and sculpture.

Tell us your own cycling stories – from childhood to yesterday – what does cycling in Bradford evoke for you?

Free drop-in creative and cycling activities:

  • Wed 10 Sep, 4-6pm – Found Word Poetry: Local artist Nicola Storr presents a fun, relaxed workshop where we’ll play with bike related words to create short, one-of-a-kind poems that celebrate cycling.
  • Thu 11 Sep, 4-6pm – Dr Bike – Minor Repairs: Free minor bike repairs and safety checks as well as information and advice on cycling in Bradford. Bring a bike along and if we can’t fix it, we can at least advise you on what to do with it.
  • Fri 12 Sep, 4-6pm – Pedal-Powered Paint Bike: produce a centrifugal spin art masterpiece by either pedalling or squeezing the paint.
  • Sat 13 Sep, 2-4pm – Textile Workshop: Join local artist Atiyya Mirza to make your own wheel stencil from a variety of materials, and then use paint to stamp down your stencil design onto fabric.
  • Sat 13 Sep, 2-4pm Sound Postcards: Local sound artist, David Carpenter teaches you how to use your smartphone to capture the sounds around you and create a lasting audio memory of your time in the park.
  • Sun 14 Sep, 2-4pm: Badge-making Using Collage: Illustrator Cat Fortey invites you to make your own bike-themed badge that tells a story. This workshop will provide you with everything you need to wear your love of cycling with pride.
