Memories of the Future

Akram Khan with Helen Linsell

An ambitious dance work starring the people of Bradford.

Memories of the Future was a powerful new production born from a unique collaboration between Akram Khan Company and Dance United Yorkshire, performed by an intergenerational cast of over 70 participants from across Bradford.

This one-off performance brought personal stories and shared experiences to the stage in a raw, honest and deeply human reflection that captures the many voices of the city.

Memories of the Future asked what it meant to find your place in the world at any age. As we grow older, our sense of place in the world can shift but with the support of community and the courage to connect, we can rediscover it together.

The performance reminded us that, regardless of age, everyone has something to give, something to learn and something worth sharing. We all belong.
