Shadmanny!

Little Foodies & Bradford South Asian Festival

Some very special foodie fun.

Shadmanny is a word meaning celebration in Urdu and Hindi — a word that especially evokes the joy, colour, music, and feasting of South Asian wedding culture.

It’s also the theme for 2025’s Bradford South Asian Festival, and Little Foodies brought it to life through food, fun, and flavour.

In true shaadi/wedding spirit, we rolled, sprinkled, and decorated our way through some sweet and savoury treats that captured the colours, aromas, and excitement of a joyful wedding feast.

The event included:

  • Hands-on, child-friendly cooking activities
  • Recipes inspired by South Asian celebratory foods
  • Playful decorations, fragrant spices, and sensory delights
  • A relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for all ages
  • Take-home creations (or eat as you go!)
