Days After Harvest

Double Pivot

A public installation that celebrated Bradford's Mango Season.

An installation project dedicated to Mango Season in Bradford, and the people who make it happen.

A Bradford 2025 Artist-Led Award project.

About the project

Each summer, honey mangoes from Pakistan arrive in the UK in their millions. Having travelled up to four thousand miles to get here, these mangoes are then at the centre of a three month hustle, passed between hands from the backs of vans.

In our warming and warring world, these mangoes must not be taken for granted. Climate change and geopolitical tensions are very real threats to the industry, the culture, and the livelihoods of the people involved.

The core of the installation was the Giant Mango Box, a 14x scale replica made from timber and vinyl, which paid tribute to the ubiquitous cardboard packaging used to import honey mangoes from Pakistan. The construction of the artwork was supported by Raven Staging in Undercliffe.

Featured inside the box were three short films, directed and edited by Haider Mahboob. Each film was focused on a different perspective from within the trade. These were extracts from an then upcoming documentary.
