This walk finds an oasis in the heart of the city. Tucked between West Bradford Golf Club and Allerton village, the two Chellow Dene reservoirs are hidden from view.

Built between 1844 and 1853 to provide drinking water to Bradford’s population, the reservoirs hold up to 341 million litres of water.

The reservoirs are set in a woodland of beech, ash and oak trees which is managed and cared for by Bradford Council. The woods are a Site of Special Scientific Interest, meaning they are a protected area for nature and a haven for people and wildlife.
