Children, young people, teachers, educators… Everyone was invited to be part of Bradford’s year in the spotlight.

The Bradford 2025 learning programme offered something for everyone in education across Bradford District.

We designed workshops, events and activities to support wellbeing, attainment and career development. We supported the curriculum with creative and heritage-focused activities for learners of all ages. And we offered continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities for teachers and educators, with comprehensive lesson plans and free resources related to Bradford 2025.

On this page you’ll find Cultural Learning stories from 2025 – and more ways to get involved.

Digital Creatives

With the National Science and Media Museum

Bradford Digital Creatives invited young people to share stories about their pasts, their presents and their futures in a variety of artforms – guided by workshops with local and international digital artists. It was designed to expand creative education and cultural participation, improve health and wellbeing – and help develop new digital talent in Bradford, preparing young people for their future working lives.

Bradford Made Conference

On 12 November 2025, at Bradford Live, we brought educators, cultural, practitioners and heritage organisations together for a rich and inspiring day of professional development.

Delegates ranged from primary and secondary teachers, SEND and alternative provision leads, through to museum and archive professionals, community‑arts organisations and local historians. The day offered a chance to connect across sectors, share practice and engage with new resources launched by Bradford 2025.

It’s been really inspiring to see how stories are being used to connect young people with Bradford’s history and identity. It’s made me think differently about how we can use local heritage in the classroom, and it’s been great to meet other educators who are doing the same.
