Artist and Painter Hannah Ferreira-Allen shares their tips on how to draw a family photo as if it was a memory - part of DRAW! supported by David Hockney.
About the Artist
Hannah Ferreira-Allen is an artist and painter, based in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Hannah see painting as a way of drawing however, without using a pencil. Usually she uses oil paints, water colours and oil pastels.
This exercise will help you take your favourite family photo and translate it into a picture using paints that captures the foggy and haziness of a memory. Hannah encourages you to give in to the blurred edges and embrace getting something ‘almost’ right.
Inspired by David Hockney, we’re encouraging everyone to get creative and DRAW.
