DRAW! supported by David Hockney is a nationwide project to get everyone drawing.

In September, artist Faiza Butt's theme 'Drawn Together' champions creativity across generations, borders and backgrounds.

Alongside The Big Draw Festival 2025, British-Pakistani artist Faiza Butt has chosen the theme ‘Drawn Together’ for DRAW! in September.

Drawing us all together, this uplifting theme champions creativity that can unite people across generations, borders, and backgrounds.

To kick off DRAW! in September, Butt has created her own artwork inspired by this theme. Titled Memento Mori, Butt’s drawing employs a traditional par-dokht pointillist technique from South Asian miniature painting to depict two figures surrounded by everyday objects like trainers, flip flops, bananas, cupcakes, and paint tubes.

So whether it’s through a group drawing session, a collaborative drawing with a number of different artists, or another idea inspired by this theme, get creative together this September.

I am excited to be part of Bradford 2025, a city home to one of the UK’s largest Pakistani communities. Through DRAW! I hope that individuals can experience how art and creativity can bring different groups and individuals together, fostering collaboration and understanding across social divides.
