The story of Denholme, and a mural painted at Denholme Youth Cafe building in Foster Park.

OUR DENHOLM
Film by Pishdaad Modaressi
I think there's something really special about making something side by side, something practical, physical with people. That's why you do it.

You know, you're doing this for the community.

The four green walls of Denholme Youth Cafe hold a world of imagination and community spirit. Over the summer of 2025, a team of artists led by Creative Practitioner Amy Bairstow brought colour and creativity to life through an 18-metre mural co-created with the people of Denholme.

From ages 2 to 82, neighbours, friends, and families painted side by side—capturing the town’s landscapes, buildings, and shared stories in one unfolding storybook wall.

Watch the full film by Pishdaad Modaressi and see Denholme’s creativity come to life.
