About Wild Uplands

Wild Uplands brought a series of new artworks by four leading national and international contemporary artists to Penistone Hill Country Park as part of the Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture. The artworks celebrated Bradford’s natural and cultural heritage, and cultural diversity.

Yorkshire’s uplands have long inspired creativity. In this spirit, four leading contemporary artists created site-specific works on the moors above Haworth, forming an open-air gallery at Penistone Hill Country Park. Developed for Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture’s programme, the project celebrated the district’s natural beauty, heritage, and creative spirit. The work has been translated onto a digital platform, where the artworks and their story can continue to be explored.
