Tower of Now: Celebrating Bradford’s Languages

Create a concertina book using collage and text to express Bradford’s unique diversity of languages, dialect and slang.
This resource is inspired by Saad Qureshi’s major public artwork in the centre of Bradford for Bradford 2025, Tower of Now – a soaring sculpture exploring what it means to be British and celebrates Bradford’s dazzling diversity.
You will need:
- A3 card or thick paper for folding your book
- Old magazines, newspaper and other collage materials
- Pens
- Scissors
- Glue
- Ideas from the Engage section (page 4)
Approximate session times:
- Engage activities: 30 minutes – 1 hour
- Make, Create and Do activities: 1-2 hours
