Deadline: Monday 4 November

We are seeking to appoint a contractor to provide temporary staging and seating for the upcoming production of The Railway Children, presented by Bradford 2025 and York Theatre Royal in partnership with the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture.

We are recreating the original York Theatre Royal production, as performed in venues around the world.

The seating and staging of this production create a traverse theatre alongside a train track. The production features a real train, so the staging has to recreate actual platform height. There is a scenic finish to the staging.

Scope of work

The scope of work for this contract includes:

  • Expected load in date: 11 June 2025
  • Expected load out date: 11 September 2025
  • Staging is required to create two railway platforms alongside a train track
  • Seating is required for circa 500 people
  • Stairs and access ramps are to be provided
  • Facias, nosings, tier dressing to be provided
  • Transport to / from the site
  • Specialist crew

Contractors will be directed by our project manager, and will work alongside our design team.
