New Focus: Call for Tender – Bradford Family Album Digital Archive
Impressions Gallery and New Focus are calling for tenders to develop a new digital archive of community-sourced family photographs and stories.
Project Overview
Bradford Family Album is an Impressions Gallery project in partnership with Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture and is part of New Focus, its award-winning programme for young people in Bradford.
This ambitious project involves the mentoring of ten young people who began working together as New Focus: Bradford Young Curators in July 2024. The young people are now reaching out to local communities to gather images and stories for Bradford’s biggest digital family album – and working closely with Impressions to curate a major photography exhibition at the gallery in 2025.
This opportunity calls for innovative design and technical expertise that can build a digital platform that helps us to capture the essence of Bradford’s diverse communities and supports the preservation of memories for generations to come.

- Deadline for pitches: Thursday 22 May 2025, 12pm noon.
- Interviews with shortlisted contractors: w/c 26 May 2025.
- Digital archive live: September 2025.
Scope of Work
We are seeking qualified and experienced website design and development agencies to help with the following:
- Design a multimedia digital platform prioritising user experience and accessibility.
- Implement an easy-to-use CMS.
- Integrate visitor analytics.
- Provide training and support.
Budget
Up to £16,000 (+VAT if applicable), inclusive of all costs, including research, development, build, testing & training for team members in the CMS.
An additional budget has been ring fenced for hosting, future support and upgrade costs once the platform is live.
