Deadline to apply: Monday 17 November 2025, 9am

As part of our commitment to peer learning and practitioner development, the Bradford 2025 Creative Health Community of Practice is offering 8 micro awards of up to £300 to support the delivery of skill share sessions between September and mid-December 2025.

These sessions are a space for members to share tools, methods and ideas that support and inspire Creative Health practice across the district. Sessions should be welcoming, informal and participatory—supporting others in the network to build confidence, try new approaches or reflect on the way they work.

What might a session include?

We welcome a broad range of proposals. Topics might include (but are not limited to):

  • Co-production techniques
  • Trauma-informed creative approaches
  • Embedding evaluation creatively
  • Inclusive and accessible facilitation
  • Partnership working with health or VCSE sectors
  • Practitioner care and sustainability
  • Using technology in Creative Health (e.g. digital storytelling, VR, hybrid delivery, assistive tech)

Who can apply?

These micro awards are open to existing members of the Creative Health Community of Practice (COP), and we welcome new applications from artists, facilitators, producers, researchers, community health practitioners and others working across arts, health and community settings in Bradford District and Craven who would like to become part of the community. The COP is a growing network and if you would like to join, contact [email protected] for more information.

Q&A

In August 2025 we ran an online information session about the Care to Share Health Micro Awards. The questions and answers below summarise the questions we were asked and how we responded.

Can I work with a partner or collaborate with other practitioners to deliver the session?

You absolutely can, and we welcome collaborative proposals, however, do bear in mind the amount of the award which is £300 per each award. If you want to apply with a partner or a collaborator, the award will have to be split between you all, so please account for your individual fees, possible session materials and any other expenses your session will require.

Where should the sessions take place?

As a project funded by Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture, the sessions should take place within Bradford District and Craven. We do not mind where, but it needs to be within these localities.

Who are the sessions for?

The sessions are meant to be designed for and delivered to creative health practitioners, these being artists, musicians, performers, health providers and professionals, VCSE members, members of cultural organisations (i.e. museums, galleries, heritage institutions), academics and researchers. The idea is that these sessions are peer led and delivered to peers.

What kinds of venues are appropriate for these sessions?

We encourage use of accessible community venues across the Bradford district (e.g. Bradford District Libraries and community hubs). You are also welcome to arrange the sessions with or in cultural organisations like Theatre in the Mill, upon mutual agreement between all parties involved.

When will the outcomes of application process be shared?

Everyone who has applied for the Care to Share micro awards will hear back from us by the end of day on 29th August 2025.

Who will be attending the sessions?

Existing Bradford 2025 creative health Community of Practice will be invited to attend these sessions, but we encourage the applicants to promote across and share with their existing networks and connections.

What should I share in the sessions?

This could be anything from an approach, methodology or practice techniques within creative health context which either worked successfully for you, or you are keen to share with wider community of practitioners. We also welcome novel ideas and frameworks of practice, as well as specialist skills or creative health practice you can share with other practitioners.
