Community members from BD4 or the Gypsy and Traveller community - sign up to be part of RIDE!
United Art Project, Leeds GATE and Spin Arts are looking for community members from BD4 or the Gypsy and Traveller community to be part of an exciting new show RIDE! – no experience needed!
RIDE! tells the story of a family’s fight to survive in a world that keeps pushing back against them.
Big Deli and a cast of Bradford rappers star in this electrifying new show, bringing together music, rap, dance and theatre. It’s being created for Bradford 2025 with Gypsy and Traveller communities and the people of BD4 – and will be performed at the TFD Centre in Holme Wood on 19 & 20 September 2025.
This is your chance to feature in the show alongside professional rappers and dancers, directed by Southpaw Company.
Try something new, meet people, and have some fun – all ages and levels of experience welcome!

For the workshops, come in something you feel comfortable moving in.
For the show you will wear something from your own wardrobe that’s simple and comfortable. We will give you some simple ideas on style and colour (grey, dark grey or black) but the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and relaxed. You will not need to spend any of your own money buying new clothes for this performance; we’ll work with what you have!
Can I bring friends and family with me?
Absolutely. If you have friends or family you know who would like to take part with you, bring them along.
Will I be paid?
This is a voluntary opportunity, you will not be paid for your time. We have a travel budget for people who would not be able to access the sessions without assistance. We will provide refreshments at each session. We can also cover access support costs.
You’ll be given RIDE! merchandise for taking part, and could be invited to feature in Press, TV and Radio interviews.
What if I can’t do all the dates?
You’d need to come to as many rehearsals as possible so that you’re at your best for the performance, but if you have to miss the odd one or two, then we’ll get you up to speed at the Refresher Day on Saturday 13 September.
You must be available to attend dress rehearsals on 16-18 September and performance days on 19-20 September (outside of school / working hours).
