Join The People Powered Press, in Saltaire, for a hands on letterpress printing workshop, and take away your own giant print, made on the press.

The People Powered Press, is recognised by Guinness World Records as the largest letterpress of its kind in the world.

Join the team for a letterpress printing workshop, where you will learn about typography design and letterpress printing. This is a relaxed session and is open to all abilities.

What to expect:

In this workshop, you’ll spend three hours with Sophie, a printmaker from The People Powered Press. During that time, you’ll design your print, set the individual letters on the press, learn how to space and lock them in place, then ink them up and use them to create your own giant print.

What to bring with you:

  • Clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting a little bit dirty, though we’ll provide you with an apron.
  • If you have long hair, please bring something you can use to tie it back.
  • Don’t wear anything too flowy, especially baggy sleeves, to avoid getting trapped in the press’s roller or dangling in the ink.

Location:

The People Powered Press, Salts Works
