The dragons gather at all four corners of Wyke sports village and approach the cycle circuit from the north, south, east and west. They circle and circuit, searching, seeking. The separate dragons come together in a grand finale, assembling one gigantic dragon in a celebratory coming together of diverse and different people from all over Bradford, a reflection of the city itself. Over 100 dragons will be internally illuminated and then externally lit at the finale spectacular.

The full Wyke Dragons project involves:

• Workshops (invite-only) at Summat Creative Shipley Wednesday evenings May to September 2025
• School based workshops at Southfield SEND academy, Worthinghead Primary and Atlas Primary School during June-September 2025
• Choreography and dress rehearsal workshops: afternoons at Wyke circuit on the first 3 Saturdays in October
• Dress Rehearsal: 2.30-7pm Saturday 25 October 2025, performers only
• Final Performance: 5.30pm Saturday 1 November 2025, and preparation, gathering and assembly of performers at 2.30pm
• A free event for the public to attend – book a ticket via the Eventbrite!

Summat Creative co-produces creative and sports projects with people with Learning Disabilities. In every project everyone who works with them is paid fairly, treated equitably and has their needs, divergences and differences respected. In all their projects they employ people with Learning Disabilities, those who have been out of work due to caring responsibilities and those who are marginalised in society.
