Hear refugees and migrants tell their stories in this creative sound-world presented alongside an interview with the creators.
Celebrating the voices of those who have experienced displacement, Voice Notes features telephone messages from refugees and migrants combined with electro-acoustic sound manipulation and the use of directional speakers.
Presented in association with Another Sky Festival, written by the composer, sound artist and improviser Hardi Kurda and the librettist Sarah Jackson, with Compass Collective, Counterpoints Arts and New Writing North.

About this event
This New Music Biennial 2025 event is free, but ticketed. Seating is unallocated and tickets don’t guarantee entry: admission is on a first-come, first-served basis for those with tickets. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
This event includes two performances of the same work and a short interview with the creative team in between the two, enabling audiences to experience the second performance with greater insight into the creative process.
