Urdu Shurdu

A monthly drop in group for anyone who has an interest in Urdu Poetry. Part of Our Patch.

Ages 16+. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

Shayari seh hai Zindagi.

Each month we will focus on a different poet. We will learn a little about the poet, read, translate and interpret a few of their poems.

Each session will include some of the following:

  • Learning new vocab
  • Poetry structure
  • Writing exercises
  • Reading from Urdu text or Roman script
  • Sharing your own writing
  • Practising spoken Urdu
  • Sharing your favourite poems and poets

This group is suitable for over 16s. All under 18s need a parent or guardian. If you need to bring younger children due to childcare issues please get in touch with Kauser Kukhtar, Our Patch Creative Practitioner, on [email protected] before the session.
