  • Relaxed environment

Give your old clothes and fabrics new life, in a space where you can slow down, make, and connect. We’ll celebrate the art of repair and reuse – proving that mending is not just practical, it’s creative, joyful, and full of meaning.

With gentle guidance from creative practitioner, Duncan Burnett, The Repair Patch workshops are FREE and accessible to all. No need to book, just drop-in and get going! Bring along a piece of old clothing to repair or make use of the materials Duncan will provide for you to work with.

What’s it about?

  • Sustainability – keeping clothes out of landfill by repairing, patching, and transforming them.
  • Creativity – sparking imagination with simple, fun, hands-on textile skills.
  • Wellbeing – offering calm, mindful spaces where making becomes a form of care.
  • Community – connecting people across Bradford’s postcodes through fabric and stories.

Friendly pop-up workshops in your local library where you can learn from a skills menu: patchwork, embroidery, felting, rug making, clothes-to-cushions, textile printing, memory textile sculpture.

Our Patch

This project is funded by Our Patch.

Our Patch is a year-long arts programme across Bradford in 2025, inviting community groups and residents to design and take part in free workshops, activities and events in their local area. Led by local ‘Our Patch Producers’ alongside artists and makers, the project will bring people together through creative experiences ranging from painting and poetry to dancing, cooking and gardening. Taking place in community halls, libraries, faith spaces and social hubs across Bradford East, Bradford South, Bradford West, Keighley & Ilkley and Shipley, Our Patch celebrates local culture while helping people learn skills, build confidence and make new connections. This is Our Patch.

Our Patch is funded by The Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and The National Lottery Community Fund. We extend our thanks to all players of the National Lottery.
