Handcrafted by Thomas Lyte, the official gold and silversmiths to the late Queen Elizabeth II and the FA Cup,  the Baton of Hope's design is laden with poignant symbolism.

The Baton first toured the UK in 2023, carried by those affected by the suicide of a friend, colleague or relative. As the Baton is carried through Bradford this September, it will provide an opportunity to reflect and to highlight the importance of suicide awareness.

There is hope. If more people talk openly about mental health and suicide, spot the signs, ask the right questions, and listen without judgement, we can make a difference.

On it’s tour through Bradford, The Baton of Hope will visit the Beacon in Lister Park, where it will be met by friends and relatives of the Baton Bearers.

Join us for an afternoon of music, hope and contemplation.

Performances by Music Box, Sing Meanwood, Marina Josephina, The Singing Wardens of Lower Grange, Kauser Mukhtar & Qaiser Khan and the Solow Choir.

Artist Katie Shepherd will provide a creative activity designed to support those experiencing grief and loss.

Everyone is welcome, even if you have not been affected by personal loss or suicide.
