Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (UK)
We learnt about Hindu and Gujarati traditions at The Beacon.
We learnt about Hindu and Gujarati culture and traditions including traditional prayer, dance and yoga.
- 9-9:30am: Welcome with tea, coffee and biscuits
- 9:30-10am: Hindu prayers ceremony. People were welcome to participate or observe. Prayers were be explained and translated into English.
- 10-11am: Gujarati dandiya Raas/Garba dance – traditional dance involving sticks and clapping, performed in colourful clothing. Open to all who would like to join, and the cultural significance was explained.
- 11-11:50am: Seated yoga session on chairs. This session willwasbe delivered by a qualified teacher and was open to all.
- 12-1pm: Lunch
