Get ready for an unforgettable evening of music, community, and pure desi joy!

Gaana Shaana brings together voices from across Bradford to celebrate the rich musical traditions of South Asia with live musicians, delicious desi snacks, and all the warm, feel-good vibes of a true community gathering.

Whether you’re a bathroom singer, a shower-time superstar, or someone who just loves good tunes and good company, this is your night.

In South Asian culture, every moment – from heartbreak to celebration – has a song. “Gaana Shaana” is our playful way of saying: music, fun, and a little bit of madness. It’s the spirit of hanging out, singing our hearts out, and just being together.

Toh kya khayaal hai? Mil baith ke thoda Gaana Shaana ho jaye?

What to expect

  • Live performances by local talent from across Bradford.
  • Accompaniment by live musicians for an authentic sound experience.
  • Traditional South Asian snacks to keep your energy (and nostalgia) high.
  • A round of Antakshari – the beloved Bollywood song game that brings out everyone’s inner performer.
  • And the big headline: SongGeet – Yorkshire’s very own all-women South Asian vocal ensemble, known for their stunning renditions of folk, Bollywood, and Qawwali classics!

Gaana Shaana is more than an event — it’s a shared celebration of sound, identity, and community.

Open to all

This event is for everyone – all cultures, all ages, all backgrounds. No prior singing experience needed. Just bring your voice, your vibe, and your love for music.

What to perform?

Whether you’ve got a classic Lata track, a soulful ghazal, or a secret rap talent — we want to hear from you!
