About the film

Join us for a special screening of American Movie, a cult favourite documentary that follows Mark Borchardt, an aspiring filmmaker from a working-class town in Wisconsin, as he struggles to finish his low budget horror film despite a constant stream of obstacles. Funny, heartfelt, and deeply human, American Movie has become a beloved classic about creativity, determination, and independent filmmaking.
This is a relaxed community event where you can watch the film, share food, and take part in conversation with others.

About EatDoFilm

EatDoFilm is a special program of free community cinema screenings, talks and food at the historic Lister Mills in Manningham. Featuring films from bold storytellers whose passion for the process of filmmaking is told through compelling and heart warming stories.

The on screen celebration of everyday people coming together to find community and connection through films and cinema is at the heart of #EatDoFilm; a program of filmmaking workshops taking place with everyday Bradfordians throughout January – March 2026.

Facilitated by award-winning artist and filmmaker Hafsah Nibe, each workshop offers a range of creative activities, film-related food, and hands-on experience in filmmaking from poster design to acting on location alongside a monthly immersive film-and-food experience.
