Zayn Malik is our Bradford 2025 Ambassador

Bradford-born singer-songwriter Zayn Malik is the Ambassador for Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture.

Born and raised in East Bowling, Bradford, Zayn still has strong connections to his home city. Throughout 2025, Zayn, along with the people of Bradford, celebrated our district as the UK City of Culture.

As Bradford’s 2025 Ambassador, Zayn has taken part in some citywide activations and special projects that celebrate all that the area has to offer, focusing on the rich diversity, culture, and youth of the city.

Bradford is and always will be home to me. It’s a very special place and I’m happy to see it being recognised as the City of Culture for 2025. There are some exciting projects I am taking part in throughout the year that I can’t wait to share with you.

I’ve travelled all over the world but my roots and family remain in Bradford. Now we can celebrate this great city and the people who live and work here with the rest of the world.

An invitation from Zayn

In Spring 2025 Zayn invited members of the Bradford 2025 Youth Panel to an exclusive VIP reception ahead of his first ever UK solo performance at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London.

Reflecting on the trip, one Youth Panel member said: ‘To see Zayn as my first concert is extremely cool and a once-in-many-years opportunity!’
