The Beacon is our very own touring venue – and you can host your very own event in it during Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture.

The Beacon is a temporary performance space that will be travelling the district during our year as UK City of Culture. This super-versatile venue has been designed to host a huge variety of different events – and we’re inviting you to present your own community event in it.

We want The Beacon to be a true hub for each neighbourhood it visits in 2025. It will be temporary home-from-home for everyone who uses it, with a programme of events that really reflects the brilliant communities of Bradford District. Join us in The Beacon and be part of the UK’s biggest cultural celebration.

Where and when can we find The Beacon?

We’re taking The Beacon to four parks around Bradford District between April and September 2025. The Beacon will be open for approximately one month in each location, and will host different events each day. The parks are:

  • Wibsey Park, Wibsey – Thursday 3 April to Monday 5 May 2025
  • Bowling Park, Bowling – Thursday 22 May to Sunday 22 June 2025
  • Cliffe Castle Park, Keighley – Thursday 10 July to Sunday 10 August 2025
  • Lister Park, Manningham – Thursday 28 August to Sunday 28 September 2025

What can we do at The Beacon?

Almost anything! The Beacon is a versatile space, designed to accommodate a huge variety of events. There’ll be headline acts: music, comedy and much more. There’ll be weekday shows and weekend festivals. But there’ll also be clubs, classes, family activities, neighbourhood get-togethers… you name it, let’s do it!

What facilities does The Beacon have?

There’ll be a stage, of course, with a sound system, microphones, lighting and even a dancefloor. There’ll be chairs and tables, which we can arrange in a variety of different configurations to suit your event. Our fantastic team of friendly volunteers will be able to help welcome people to your event and show people to their seats.

How can we apply to stage an event?

Please complete our Event Proposal Form in as much detail as possible – it will help us to understand what you’d like to do and how we can help you bring your ideas to life.

We understand events will be at varying stages of development so there is no set deadline for submission. However, please complete the form and return it as soon as you can. The earlier we receive this, the more we will be able to accommodate and support you.

We’ll review all the event proposals for each location, and will get in touch with every applicant within 3–4 weeks of each deadline. We’ll then work with all successful applicants on the specifics of each event, such as the name, date, time and technical requirements.
