Celebrating the voices of those who have experienced displacement, Voice Notes featured telephone messages from refugees and migrants combined with electro-acoustic sound manipulation and the use of directional speakers.

Presented in association with Another Sky Festival, written by the composer, sound artist and improviser Hardi Kurda and the librettist Sarah Jackson, with Compass Collective, Counterpoints Arts and New Writing North.

Genre: Global, diasporic, electroacoustic.

About this event

All events across New Music Biennial 2025 were free.

Events included two performances of the same work and a short interview with the creative team in between the two. This enabled audiences to experience the second performance with greater insight into the creative process.

About New Music Biennial
