Turner Lates: January
You celebrated the thriving artistic communities of our district.
You joined us for the last in our series of Turner Prize evening events that celebrated the creative communities of the North.
Thursday 15 January
The Turner Prize 2025 exhibition showcases work by four of the UK’s best new visual artists – and at our final Turner Lates evening special, their work is joined at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery by the best of Bradford’s creative communities.
You blew off the January blues by trying something new with engaging creative activities, inspired food and mini market all from local artists alongside a featured talk from Turner Prize nominee Mohammed Sami in conversation with Turner Prize 2025 curator Michael Richmond.
Edible Archives presented Textures of the Turner Prize, sweet and savoury canapes inspired by the shapes, colours and forms of the exhibition. Mek Summat brought a selection of Bradfords’ best for a mini makers market, plus you made your own zine with artist Lauren Kelly, and tried your hand at drawing challenges with artist Naseem Darbey. You sang while at a the potters wheel with “Potteraoke”, an unlikely pottery/karaoke mash-up hosted by Mavis and Mabel from the Portland Inn Project.
