The Sticky Dance for Sensory Groovers

Second Hand Dance

An interactive performance installation for autistic/neurodivergent children aged 3–7.

This tactile dance performance was made especially for autistic/neurodivergent children aged 3–7.

Three dancers shimmied through the audience, weaving a tapestry of sticky tape. We were invited to tape, stick and groove, to see and feel sound – or just to be still, watch and listen and explore the space however we liked!

About the artists

Second Hand Dance produce joyful, inspirational performances and digital dance films for children and adults, collaborating with dancers, filmmakers, animators, musicians and audiences in a co-creation process. Established in 2013, Second Hand Dance has an adaptive leadership model, and is run by disabled and non-disabled Co-Directors Rosie Heafford and Claire Summerfield.
