The Bradford Selection

Take a bite out of Bradford with our magnificent biscuits.

About

Edible Archives turned Bradford stories into biscuits with a limited edition biscuit tin, which is now available with a recipe card inside so you can bake your own biscuits at home.

No food is more central to UK culture than the humble biscuit, so we cooked up our very own selection – made right here in Bradford especially for you.

Edible Archives, Bradford-based food artists, toured Bradford collecting stories, histories and recipes from people across the district, resulting in The Bradford Selection: a limited-edition tin of biscuits inspired by Bradford communities and cultures, which sold out in a matter of days.

Don’t unplug that kettle just yet though. The Bradford Selection Tin with Recipe Card, for you to bake your own biscuits at home, is available to buy online now for just £5.

The Bradford Selection Tin & Recipe Card

A new edition of The Bradford Selection biscuit tin is now available. The collectible tin contains recipe cards for The Bradford Selection biscuits so you can make your own. Recipes are included for:

  • The Welcome, inspired by people from around the world who have settled in Bradford.
  • Richard Dunn-Ker, a homage to the legendary heavyweight champion and the iconic Sports Centre named in his honour.
  • ’Til the Revolution, created with the 1 in 12 Library Collective and inspired by Bradford’s social history and future.
  • Apple Day Forever, a tribute to the Bowling Park Community Orchard.
  • Gur in a Suitcase, a celebration of Bradford’s Sikh-Punjabi diaspora inspired by the South Asian treat barfi.

The recipe card is presented in a limited-edition collectible tin with a selection of artworks and inserts, from essays on the history of biscuits to special stories and illustrations – taking inspiration from the British Library’s collection. You can enjoy a guided audio experience, with recordings of the artists, experts and others.
