Friday 11 April is family fun day at The Beacon.

We’re welcoming children, young people, their parents and carers to Wibsey Park for an afternoon of family-friendly workshops, activities and performances during the school holidays. You don’t need to book, and admission is free. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Running order:

  • 11am-5pm: Climbing Wall provided by Creative International Adventures.
  • 12pm-4pm: InCommunities will be providing big outdoor games including Jenga and Connect 4.
  • 1pm-3pm: Picasso Paint – We’ve all got an artist inside of us – and Bradford’s very own United Art Project will be helping us to set our inner artist free at this creative workshop, open to all ages – all children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • 1pm-3pm: Bradford Organic Community Services will be running an upcycling workshop.
  • 1pm-3pm: Bradford Libraries Crafty Capers – Bradford libraries will be providing craft activities for families as well as information about their services.
  • 1pm-4pm: Bradford Model Engineering Society – An exhibit of model railway locomotives, boats and stationary engines, plus radio-controlled model boats on the lake for you to have a go with.
  • 1pm-4pm: Icecreamery will be selling ice creams for £2. The first 150 will be free of charge!
  • 1pm-4pm: Face Painting by Alannah from Ninja Llama Parties and Gina
  • 1pm-4pm: Outdoor games and activities provided by Reevy Hill Family Hub/fyi service.
  • 2:30pm-4:30pm: Singer songwriter Jake Keating will play a live acoustic set
  • 2:30pm-5:30pm: Creative Cricket
  • 4pm-4:45pm: Dancestars School of Dance Future superstars from Wibsey’s wonderful dance school will be performing a host of solo and group routines – disco, freestyle, contemporary, street dance and much more to boot.
  • 5:30pm-6:30pm: Revo Street Band All the way from Queensbury, Revo will be bringing a modern brass-band twist to pop classics from down the ages.

We’ll be announcing more performances and activities shortly, along with a full timetable of events so you can plan your day.

The Beacon is a custom-made touring venue for Bradford 2025.
