Queer Places, a creative platform that celebrates LGBTQ+ spaces past and present, host a workshop exploring memories of city centre pub The Junction.

Attendees will be invited to share stories, photographs – if you have them – and memories to help us map out the physical layout and design of The Junction and honor the impact it had on our community.

Remembering the Junction is hosted by Luke Fawcett & Alice Parsons.

Luke Fawcett

Luke Fawcett (he/him) is the Bradford raised and Liverpool based artist behind Queer Places, a project that uncovers and celebrates LGBTQIA+ histories through creative research, community engagement, art-making, and public installations. Working with archives, storytelling, and on site-specific projects, Queer Places preserves and shares the legacy of past queer spaces.

You can follow Queer Places at www.queerplaces.co.uk or @queerplaces on instagram

Alice Parsons

Alice Parsons (she/her) is the Director of Castles in the Sky Projects, home of OUT OUT, Bradford Queer Film Festival and the Bradford LGBTQ+ archive. She is passionate about discovering, preserving and celebrating Bradford’s past through events, community organising and artist support.

About the Back in the Pink Weekender

Back in the Pink, Bradford 2025’s series dedicated to the rich and radical history of LGBTQ+ life in the city, continues with a weekend-long celebration of gay life – past, present and future.

Travel back in time to explore the activism, community and culture of Bradford’s LGBTQ+ communities in the late 20th century. Connect with today’s LGBTQ+ community at workshops, discussions and a Saturday-night party. And consider how together, we can preserve our own communities’ histories for generations to come.
