Remembering the Junction

Queer Places

We explored memories of city centre pub The Junction.

Queer Places, a creative platform that celebrates LGBTQ+ spaces past and present, hosted a workshop that explored memories of the city centre pub The Junction.

Attendees were invited to share stories, photographs, and memories to help map the physical layout and design of The Junction and honour its impact on our community.

Remembering the Junction was hosted by Luke Fawcett & Alice Parsons.

Luke Fawcett

Luke Fawcett (he/him) is the Bradford raised and Liverpool based artist behind Queer Places, a project that uncovers and celebrates LGBTQIA+ histories through creative research, community engagement, art-making, and public installations. About the Back in the Pink Weekender

Back in the Pink, was Bradford 2025’s series dedicated to the rich and radical history of LGBTQ+ life in the city, whcih included a weekend-long celebration of gay life – past, present and future.

We travelled back in time to explore the activism, community and culture of Bradford’s LGBTQ+ communities in the late 20th century. We connected with today’s LGBTQ+ communities through workshops, discussions and a Saturday-night party.  Together, we considered how we can preserve our own communities’ histories for generations to come.
