Bradford College

National Saturday Club: Games Design

Bradford College created a new Games Design Saturday Club for 13-16 year olds.

Members unlocked their creativity and brought their gaming ideas to life at Bradford College’s Game Design Saturday Club!

Supported with the guidance of experienced industry professionals, members dove into essential skills such as storyboarding, character design, coding and user interface development. Each session was designed to be hands-on, ensuring that they not only learnt the theory but also applied it practically by building their own games. This Club was perfect for anyone looking to explore the digital arts, improve problem-solving abilities, and collaborate with like-minded peers.

As an expansion of the network of 127 Saturday Clubs across the UK, support from Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture enabled the launch of a new Saturday Club at Bradford College. The Games Design Saturday Club provided 13–16-year-olds in the city with access to the college’s expert tutors and fantastic facilities – for free!

Club members also took part in national events, including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibited their work in a public exhibition at Somerset House in London – all for free!

Impact Gamers C.I.C.

Impact Gamers C.I.C. is a Bradford based community interest company that exists to inspire young people to not just play games but become game makers. In our over 10 years of running we have seen how computer games/game making unites people across communities, genders, ethnicity, abilities and ages and want to do more.

We use Clickteam’s “Fusion” for quick and engaging results. We run; lessons and workshop series in schools and community / youth organisations and regular after school groups. In 2018 we won a BAFTA for our groundbreaking work in mentoring young people.
