Punjabi Roots brought their dhol drums to The Beacon in Wibsey Park, and everyone was invited to come and have a bash.

The two-headed dhol drum is a true icon of South Asian music, absolutely central to the unmistakeable sound of bhangra. Punjabi Roots are Bradford’s masters of bhangra beats, and they passed on their knowledge at this free workshop in Wibsey. Audiences discovered the history of this classic instrument, explored how it’s used in music today, learnt how to play it properly – then picked up a pair of sticks and got drumming.
