KOKOROKO

Plus support from TC & the Groove Family

The powerhouse London collective rounded out our brass weekender.

Afrobeat, funk, jazz, soul… No one sounds quite like KOKOROKO, one of the most exciting live bands in the UK right now.

Fronted by a three-piece all-female horn section led by trumpeter Sheila Maurice-Grey, KOKOROKO take a whole melting pot of influences and brew them into a sound entirely their own – reflective one minute, electrifying the next.

Fresh from a sell-out UK tour, they came to Bradford for the first time as part of Bradford 2025 – a fittingly thrilling end to our weekend-long celebration of the best in British brass. As KOKOROKO themselves put it: ‘Come as you are – and share joy’.

Support came from TC & the Groove Family, a mighty 10-piece collective from Leeds who cook up afrobeat, breakbeat, jazz, highlife and hip hop into an irresistible stew. Bring your dancing shoes.
