Head to Bowling Park for a family event during Refugee Week, aimed at building bridges with communities.

About the project

Come and engage in a family fun day aimed at all communities, part of Intercultured Festival 2025. With a variety of activities including facepainting, Mehndi, Moomin Arts and crafts and foods.

All activities will run from 11am to 3pm unless specified:

  • Sonia – Mehndi Art: come and explore the beautiful art of Henna – 11.30am-2.30pm
  • Yoga in the Park: 1pm with Hopon
  • Bolling Museum: Arts trail
  • The Case of the Cheeky Boggart: an arts trail with a twist, featuring clues to solve.
  • Miroslav: early years creative activity
  • Salma – Facepainting: bring your kids and get your face decorated with Art Jane
  • Moomin Art for all: explore Moomin Art for Refugee Week
  • 50 Things To do Before You’re 5
  • Creative activities for young kids
  • REN: Come and engage with Fatima in a Book Club session exploring refugee writers
  • West Yorkshire Police: join James and co-worker for a general walk and talk about the role of the Police
  • Fire Safety Brigade: A water safety demonstration with a fire crew by Bowling Lodge Café
  • City Of Sanctuary: Meet and greet the COS team
  • Emerge: Labyrinth workshop for all ages
  • Friends of Bowling Park workshop

Children need to be accompanied by an adult. Snacks and drinks available on the day.

About the artist

In its fifth year, Intercultured Festival celebrates the multilayers of cultures and communities that make up our incredible city. Hear and learn from global majority voices, and celebrate Bradford as a creative home for all.

Intercultured Festival is led by experienced Bradford artist and producer, Mussarat Rahman, along with senior producer Charlotte The Magpie.

Visit The Beacon in Bowling Park

The Beacon is a custom-made touring venue for Bradford 2025.

From Thursday 22 May to Sunday 22 June 2025, The Beacon will be in Bowling Park.
