Hands That Speak

Aftab

Sign, create, connect

This was a special session to learn about British Sign Language, deaf culture and experiences.

Aftab has been teaching sign language to the local community in Frizinghall over the last few weeks and we were invited to come along to a special session to explore more about deaf culture and experiences.

We learned some BSL, joined in some art, grabbed some tasty food and joined in a special interview with Aftab to find out what it’s like to grow up deaf in a hearing world.

Hands That Speak was an inclusive and relaxed session for all ages.
