In this enchanted landscape, you’ll take on an important mission: helping our historian to solve the mysteries of Damart Mill. You’ll pass through secret doors, a fairy forest and even go underwater on your quest – and perhaps you’ll meet some special guests along the way.
Dreamed up by artist Steve Wintercroft, produced by Yorkshire’s very own ARCADE and built entirely from recycled and repurposed materials, Grue is named after an ancient word for ‘shiver’ – but don’t worry about the cold! You’ll be able to warm up with a drink and a snack, and take part in special crafting activities on site.

Audio described
Audio description will be provided through PenFriend – A chunky pen shaped device that can audio describe spaces and objects when placed near specially designed stickers. We have a limited number of these devices but have made audio description available during at least one slot each hour. Please contact our Ticketing team on [email protected] for more information.
Performances will not be captioned, but a transcript will be available to read.

Disabled parking
There are 6 disabled car parking spaces in the venue car park and are right next to the entrance.

A quiet room will be available throughout the event.
Relaxed sessions
We will be holding relaxed sessions on Mondays. These sessions are aimed at people with additional needs allowing you to experience Grue without live performers and at your own pace.
