Composer-pianist Xenia Pestova Bennett to created an electic soundscape at St George’s Hall

Glow presented a magical sound-world blending the Magnetic Resonator Piano with a contemporary chamber ensemble, weaving semi-improvised elements and field recordings together with intricate, extended techniques.

An eclectic soundscape woven together by composer-pianist Xenia Pestova Bennett and performed by Hard Rain Soloist Ensemble.

Glow was commissioned by Northern Ireland’s premier new music group, Hard Rain SoloistEnsemble, and written by the innovative composer-pianist Xenia Pestova Bennett, who also joined the ensemble on stage.

All events across New Music Biennial 2025 were free.

Events included two performances of the same work and a short interview with the creative team in between the two. This enabled audiences to experience the second performance with greater insight into the creative process.
