The UK City of Culture is teaming up with the internationally celebrated African music and lifestyle festival Blankets & Wine, for an all-day celebration of Kenyan music and culture across two stages in Lister Park – and it’s all free.

Blankets & Wine Bradford promises a full day and evening of live music, DJ sets, and cultural experiences across two stages, featuring the most exciting Kenyan artists and electronic music producers & DJs. Attendees can also expect a curated selection of food and drink at the “Onja Onja food market — including authentic African flavours — alongside artisan craft stalls and a warm, family friendly inclusive festival atmosphere.

We’ll be announcing the full line-up soon. You bring the blankets, we’ll provide the wine.

About Blankets & Wine

Founded in Nairobi in 2008, Blankets & Wine is Africa’s premier music and culture festival, known for spotlighting African talent and creating joyful, connected cultural spaces. With editions in Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda, the festival now makes its debut in the UK in  collaboration with the Bradford 2025 team.

Presented as part of the British Council UK/Kenya Season 2025, a cultural bilateral programme collaborating with partners in the UK and Kenya to present a programme of activities in 2025 that celebrates creativity and innovation through arts, culture, and education.
