The Beacon - Lister Park

Blankets & Wine Bradford

Kenya came to Manningham as we celebrated African music and culture across two stages in Lister Park.

We teamed up with the internationally celebrated African music and lifestyle festival Blankets & Wine, for an all-day celebration of Kenyan music and culture across two stages in Lister Park.

Blankets & Wine Bradford

Blankets & Wine Bradford was a full day and evening of live music, DJ sets, and cultural experiences across two stages. It featured the most exciting Kenyan artists and electronic music producers and DJs plus exciting African talent from Bradford and beyond.

Attendees were also treated to a curated selection of food and drink at the Onja Onja food market — including authentic African flavours — alongside artisan craft stalls and a warm, inclusive festival atmosphere.

Line up

We’re inviting some of Kenya’s most exciting acts to Bradford, including:

  • Bensoul – Grammy Award winning songwriter, singer and producer, effortlessly blending Afro-pop, R&B, and reggae.
  • Boutross – AKA the Shrap God. A hiphop and rap force to be reckoned with.
  • Njerae – Signed to Universal Music, singer, songwriter and producer Njerae blends Afro-indie, soul and RnB.
  • Elsy Wamweyo – Fresh from the release of her debut album Saint Sinner, expect soul-infused hip-hop and alt-R&B.
  • Euggy – Mombasa DJ Euggy takes Afro-house to the next level.
  • Tina Ardor – Singer, songwriter and DJ transcending African narratives, from East Africa to the world, through powerful Afro-house anthems.

  • Muthoni Drummer Queen  Award winning, genre-bending, internationally collaborating and touring singer, rapper, and drummer whose sound fuses hip-hop, reggae/dancehall, and soul with electronic and traditional Kenyan drum patterns.

We also showcased some iconic Bradford talent:

  • DJ Remmy & Lagos Lounge All Stars – Bradford’s DJ Remmy brings the heat with his signature blend of Afrobeat, Amapiano, Dancehall, Hip-Hop, and more. Joined by a handpicked lineup of guest performers including Drummer boy Emmystixx on live percusions.
  • Dipak aka Mistryllaneus – Selector, broadcaster and proud son of Bradford. Think old school Bollywood, Future Asian Beats, funk, soul, reggae and beyond.
  • Mista ER – DJ curating powerful, genre-defying sets. Get ready to move.
