The UK City of Culture is teaming up with the internationally celebrated African music and lifestyle festival Blankets & Wine, for an all-day celebration of Kenyan music and culture across two stages in Lister Park – and it’s all free.

Blankets & Wine Bradford

Blankets & Wine Bradford promises a full day and evening of live music, DJ sets, and cultural experiences across two stages. Featuring the most exciting Kenyan artists and electronic music producers and DJs plus exciting African talent from Bradford and beyond.

Attendees can also expect a curated selection of food and drink at the Onja Onja food market — including authentic African flavours — alongside artisan craft stalls and a warm, inclusive festival atmosphere.

Line up

We’re inviting some of Kenya’s most exciting acts to Bradford, including:

  • Bensoul – Grammy Award winning songwriter, singer and producer, effortlessly blending Afro-pop, R&B, and reggae.
  • Boutross – AKA the Shrap God. A hiphop and rap force to be reckoned with.
  • Njerae – Signed to Universal Music, singer, songwriter and producer Njerae blends Afro-indie, soul and RnB.
  • Elsy Wamweyo – Fresh from the release of her debut album Saint Sinner, expect soul-infused hip-hop and alt-R&B.
  • Euggy – Mombasa DJ Euggy takes Afro-house to the next level.
  • Tina Ardor – Singer, songwriter and DJ transcending African narratives, from East Africa to the world, through powerful Afro-house anthems.
  • Blinky Bill – Renowned Kenyan musician, producer and DJ combines African influences with hip-hop, jazz and funk.
  • Coster Ojwang – A multi-talented creative whose art and music transcend boundaries and celebrates African culture.
  • Muthoni Drummer Queen  Award winning, genre-bending, internationally collaborating and touring singer, rapper, and drummer whose sound fuses hip-hop, reggae/dancehall, and soul with electronic and traditional Kenyan drum patterns.

Plus we’re showcasing some iconic Bradford talent:

  • DJ Remmy & Lagos Lounge All Stars – Bradford’s DJ Remmy brings the heat with his signature blend of Afrobeat, Amapiano, Dancehall, Hip-Hop, and more. Joined by a handpicked lineup of guest performers including Drummer boy Emmystixx on live percusions.
  • Dipak aka Mistryllaneus – Selector, broadcaster and proud son of Bradford. Think old school Bollywood, Future Asian Beats, funk, soul, reggae and beyond.
  • Mista ER – DJ curating powerful, genre-defying sets. Get ready to move.

Founded in Nairobi in 2008, Blankets & Wine is Africa’s premier music and culture festival, known for spotlighting African talent and creating joyful, connected cultural spaces. With editions in Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda, the festival now makes its debut in the UK in  collaboration with the Bradford 2025 team.
