In 2024, Bradford 2025 provided free Audio Description training to a group of people from Bradford. Over time, we had the chance to audio describe lots of Bradford 2025's events together. Before 2024, I knew nothing about what it was, who it was for, or why it's important. But throughout 2025, I have become more passionate about accessibility in the arts, seeing firsthand how it genuinely helps people enjoy creativity when they can access it, and how much they appreciate the effort behind making things accessible.
Through conversations, I realised how much having access to Audio Description means to people - removing barriers such as travelling to another city or paying for tickets to enjoy arts and culture. It truly matters to us to be able to provide this service. By offering it at our events and exhibitions, we have helped expand our Bradford 2025 audiences.
